TEAM STAFF meeting

Think its about time with a regular meeting. There remain some common decisions to be made.
Would be nice to talk about future strategies for development and improvements on 2RAW. Irene have made a rental system that should give better overlook of sim earnings. That will be implemented asap.

Any surgestions for a date? I can everyday almost just its after 1 PM SLT. Could it be wedensday 1st of april? Write a comment.

2RAW TEAM is founded

To my great satisfaction, there was found a solution so 2RAW didnt end in the hands of rude speculators. A very skilled and sexy team has been founded. Consisting of at the moment best people i ever meet virtually, namely: Irene Muggins, Cortney Spire, Sidonie Vantelli, Moontears Vought, Tudy Araw, Firefly Pau, Vikiy Vella and ofcos me Xray Haller. The ultimate virtual crew. Now world is at our feet. Divide and rule. HOOOO

2RAW for sale

Its with a little sadness but no bitterness that I have decided to hand over the 2RAW sim to anybody that want take the future economic responsibility of the sim. I hope to find somebody to take over within the coming month or so. Anyways the sim tier payment will be stopped by then.

Since the founding of 2RAW more than 2 years ago a lot have been happening in the realm of my real life. 2RAW was founded on fascination and love to the creative and social options of SL. It was not thought to be a business, but rather a community for creativity and social hangout for people seeing the possibilities in an anarchistic virtual society with the only rule that there is no rule. I have never seen my self as a CEO of a company, but as a 1 of a team working to make 2RAw a special and dynamic community.

Back then when 2RAW was founded I was pretty well off and had lot off time to invest in virtual creation and maintaining the flow of the sim development. All this have changed radically due to rl circumstances. Though a lot have been done the last 1 year to make the sim economically sustainable, there is still some way to go before this goal is reached. At the moment the expenses are 295 USD + expenses to run the club and events. Income is at the moment around 170 to 200 USD.

Because I can not invest the neccesary amount of time and money in the sim, im depending on a strong and well organized team to make it the lively and attractive place it need to be to stand a chance to survive. I have not been successful finding somebody that will share the economically risk and the though the sim is giftet with a lot great creative and responsible people, a well organized team have still not been formed. Maybe due to the strong minds of the personalities involved.

Anyways and to make a already too long story a bit shorter I call for you to find people interested in taking over the sim. If I can find nobody that will pay anything for the sim it will be handed over free of charge. Notice that there is a 100 USD LL fee for transferring a sim into new account. That fee will be for new owner to pay. I have had some super great moments at the sim with some great people, namely you. So I hope we can find somebody to make it a striving place also in the future.

SIM SIMPLICITY Ideas

Heyo! Some rearranging ideas have been put forward last couple of days by some of the staff at 2RAW. The main focus of the ideas is to make a more clear and easily read plan layout for ground level of the SIM. Main idea is to have a central mall, have just one club at the sim and make a new sex beach. Its considered that tyhe Club will be better placed where the Bikers Club: the 777 Oceans club is today. In this spot the club can take advantage of the nice LL ocean while u get a better look at the ground of the sim. This will give way for a major mall hall in the place where old club was. Annother part of the idea is to move the dungeon faccilities and make a sex and rp beach. The sex dungeon is too hidden as it is now, and is not integrated in rest of the sim layout.  It is considered a more exposed sex beach can contribute considerable to the sim trafic. The idea is focused on the sim ground and do not deal whith the upper parts of the sim. It has been mentioned that we should look at the visual quality of the track and try improve that. 

The above mentioned idea is not being implemented before carefully discussed and thought through. So please come with all your unfiltered comments, additional or contradictionary ideas.

STARFLOWER LIVE CONCERT at THE 777 CLUB

Very popular singer and songwriter Starflower Orbit performs at 2RAW. She writes records and produces all oringinal songs in her home studio. She made a fantastic performance recently at PAL, with live original pop songs from her Cd "Starmaps".

Why am i even bothering..... only one person even reading the posts about what's being done to help the sim, the offenders who still just don't listen about glow or even vehicles not needed out when not in use...

There was an event in 777 for Strokerz.... oh nice, and what gets setup to greet everyone? glow lights, heavy glow.. how about a whole string of scripted vehicles that are just for show.

WHen i mentioned about the vehicles, Vikiy LAUGHED.... not listened,.. LAUGHED... fuck this... everything i'm doing in 777 seems to only matter to Xray and Rico....

Noone likes doing a lot of work only to have others come along and shit on it

an example of "texture trimming"


i'm trimming textures in the sim. this picture is just an example of what i mean about "textures noone sees".
another example is the underside surface of roads, ends of prims that are butted together (such as sidewalk sections ends).
The changes are to make the texture a clear texture and set the horizontal and vertical to 1.00 and 1.00. This saves "frames per second" times on a slower computer's graphics.

updates to the sim and lag cutbacks :)

in the last few days, i've gone over what feels like every surface from the ground up to just below the theater. lol oh my eyes...

Here's what seems to have helped so far:
-Glow surfaces have been brought down to .10 or lower
-textures that are on surface noone will ever see have been blanked and made black, removing full bright and glow
  • examples; - the butting ends between two prims, outside surface on track curves, etc

-textures on edges of prims (such as top edge on a wall, ends, etc) have been cleaned up

-particles: the excess of ones that really weren't needed and were causing lag, have been returned. Although some particle things really are pretty, too many of them close to each other, or too many of the same ones (like 15 or 16 of them) really do add up and create lag

-display vehicles have had the scripts pulled from them. no sense having an unused vehicle with full running scripts just sitting around

I've tested how things now look in regards to lag. My viewer settings i set at equal to what most newbies or visitors might be set to (view distance of 256, particles on, etc) and everything is rezzing quickly as well as the race track running smooth without jumpy lag pockets.

I've also talked to Zzen Dagger about next bike giveaway, in the next few days, let's work out the details on how to do it!

We have a working raffle ball to use, just need a date, time and i'll start on the textures for advertising it :) then i can also get it posted to the events calendar.
